You are invited to attend a service celebrating Uniting’s role as the community services organisation of the Uniting Church in Australia Synod of Victoria and Tasmania.
The service is being held between 22 June, the anniversary of the formation of the Uniting Church in 1977 when it produced its Statement to the Nation, and 1 July, the date that Uniting Vic.Tas came into being in 2017, merging more than 20 community services agencies connected to the Church.
Uniting’s Director of Mission, Rev John Clarke, will preach at the service. It will also be an opportunity to recommit to the Covenant between the Wesley Church Melbourne and Uniting.
The recommitment to the Covenant is timely, as some Uniting services move into the Wesley Place complex, which is next to the Wesley Church.
Wesley Mission Victoria was one of the founding agencies of Uniting. It was started by the Wesley Church in 1893, to provide services for poor and vulnerable people and to advocate on their behalf. More than 100 years later, everyone connected to Uniting remains inspired by the belief that we can build a more just, connected and inclusive society.
Refreshments will be served afterwards.
With current restrictions in Victoria, it is vital to register your attendance using the button above.
