What you told us.
Nearly 90% of you told us you felt you were treated with dignity and respect, you felt welcomed and accepted, and you felt safe to be open and honest.
James told us he feels welcome and recommends our services to people.
“Amazing! Have already recommended Uniting to others. The best thing is feeling welcomed and being treated as an equal.”
Alex said our staff helped them create achievable goals to strengthen their parenting skills.
“The person I had actually talked through stuff to help me realise I need to look after myself foremost, to be there for others. They helped me as much as they could. Giving me parenting ideas. To try new things. Taught me lots from groups and learnt to pick my battles.”
Tamara told us she found the support she needed to start her sober journey.
“Sasha is always encouraging and easy to talk to. She’s helping me find community activities and has [made] many suggestions about how to deal with anxiety and alcohol cravings. I’m 45 days sober and very positive about my future.”
Sharon, who’s in her sixties said she appreciates the personal care Uniting extended to her.
“They are true angels who went above and beyond to help me, when I faced a dismal future. Everyone at Uniting always smiled and made me feel that I was their only person to look after even though they were looking after so many others. In my 65 years I have felt like empathy and caring that I felt with all Uniting staff.”
Nina told us she found our staff and volunteers to be helpful and informative.
“I was embarrassed asking for help but they put my mind at ease and treated me like a normal person. I felt safe telling my story to them and they went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and helped with everything they could.”
