This workshop is for those who work in a professional capacity with people from LGBTIQA+ communities who may have been affected by change or suppression practices. This includes faith leaders, spiritual and secular counsellors, mental health and pastoral care practitioners, volunteer leaders and administrative staff.
The workshop will cover:
• An overview of the LGBTIQA+ community in Australia
• The concept of Minority Stress and the importance of creating structural resilience
• Best-practice pastoral care, ideas, tools and strategies to support LGBTIQA+ people within their faith tradition.
