Help your child to thrive while getting the support you need.
During early years, play is a child’s main way of learning and developing. Playgroups bring young children, parents, families and communities together to learn and develop through play activities and social interaction. Playgroup activities encourage your child’s playing, talking, listening, and social interaction, all while helping prepare them for the transition to kindergarten.
Join one of our playgroups and connect with other parents and experienced support workers to learn and develop parenting skills and confidence to support your child’s wellbeing and development.
Supported Playgroups are for parents aged up to 26 years old with children aged 0-5 years old. Referrals from other support services are accepted. We collaborate with other organisations in both assessment and intervention stages. As part of the early intervention model, we include support information and referrals for all family members.
For parents navigating the early childhood sector it can be complex enough without adding a requirement for additional needs or support. The Uniting Support Playgroup at Parents Hub is a safe and inclusive space, tailored for new parents supporting a child with suspected or diagnosed additional needs who are seeking connection and early-intervention services.
The Parents Hub is a safe space specifically designed to advocate health and wellbeing, help foster childhood development and connect parents and carers in the community. Our unique Hub offers facilitated playgroups, baby classes, mum’s groups, and classes during the weekdays and events and programs for mums outside these hours.
Available in Mooroolbark, sessions run twice a week. To make a booking visit theparentshub.com.au or email [email protected] for more information.
This supported playgroup provides a safe space for parents wanting to connect and bond with their children utilising the Smalltalk program model.
This program provides parents with the confidence they need to play and interact with their children, while providing support for referral to community services. Sessions are welcoming and inclusive, and every family’s background, experiences and cultural identities are valued.
Facilitators partner with parents to set individual goals, with the aim that once these goals have been comfortably achieved, families will transition to community playgroups or other community services.
Available in Coburg, Heidelberg West and Keon Park. Please contact us at 03 9480 6800 for more information.
