Our kinship carer support services at Uniting Vic.Tas Reservoir are designed to help those who take on the responsibility of caring for a child or young person when referred by Child Protection.
We help equip kinship carers with information, advice, and vital resources as well as crucial support through the means of financial, legal, and community assistance. Additionally, our kinship carer program in Reservoir fosters connections through social activities and support groups, creating a robust support network for kinship carers.
FPR provides intensive in-home support to parents to prevent children from entering out of home care and to reunify families where children have been placed in out of home care. You will be referred by a Child Protection Practitioner.
We will support you and your family to identify areas in your lives you wish to improve on and help you achieve your goals. We can also support you to access a range of other services tailored to your family’s needs. FPR offers coaching, education and support with parenting skills, child and adolescent development and strategies to keep families together.
We also work in partnership with The Queen Elizabeth Centre works with parents to develop skills and understanding of the needs of children under 3 years; Berry Street Take Two, a specialist child developmental health service to support parents managing behavioural and emotional needs of children; and Uniting’s Alcohol and Other Drugs program to assist parents and young people impacted by substance use.
