Are you a carer wanting to feel more empowered or create connections with other carers? Then these peer support groups are for you.

Meeting Room 2, Carrington Park Leisure Centre - 20 O’Connor Road, Knoxfield, VIC, 3180.

The Carer Gateway team are running two separate 6-week Peer Support Group for unpaid carers.
 
This includes:

1.Caregiver Empowerment Group – this is a 6-week Peer Support Group for carers to form connections with other carers and learn how to feel more empowered in your caring role.

Join to:

• Create connections in your community.
• Learn about transforming your thoughts and managing stress.
• Learn about boundaries, self-care, and wellness.
• Learn how to regulate your nervous system to manage anxiety/depression.

 

2. Caregiver Companions Group – this is a 6-week Peer Support Group for carers to form connections with other carers – share lived experience, share stories and build bonds.

Join to:

• Create connections in your community.
• Learn about resilience and empowerment.
• Reconnect with your strengths. 
 
Both groups will be held on the same day, at the same locations – except at different times. Tea/coffee and refreshments will be included.
 
Date and times:
  • Caregiver Empowerment Group – Every Wednesday, Starting 17 April – 29 May 2024. 10:00am- 12:00pm
  • Caregiver Companions Group – Every Wednesday, Starting 17 April – 29 May 2024. 1:00pm-3:00pm
