Family reunification
Supporting families to rebuild.
The Family Reunification Program works with parents of children who have become involved with Child Protection system and are living in out-of-home care.
Our team offer support to families with children on current Family Reunification Orders where the completion of AOD treatment is a requirement.
Family Reunification workers not only support parents with counselling to address AOD related issues, but can assist with other issues including mental health, family violence and safety planning through ongoing case management support.
We can meet you in your home and support you at important appointments.
How we support families
Getting to know families and understanding their unique situation allows us to discover their goals and work together to develop a step-by-step plan to achieve them.
Families involved in this service will benefit from:
- Identifying triggers for their alcohol and other drug use
- Understanding how alcohol and other drug use impacts on their day-to-day lives
- Individual and family counselling
- Where necessary, Care and Recovery Coordination to better support a collaborative approach with multiple services
Access to this service is via referral from a Child Protection Worker only.
