Refugee and Asylum Seeker support.

People seeking asylum are some of the most vulnerable in our community. Many are fleeing persecution and harm, travelling to a strange country, often at great risk, hoping for comfort and support.

Our asylum seeker programs have been serving the community for over 20 years without sustainable government funding.

Each year over 3000 people seeking asylum in Victoria attend our Welcome Centre. We provide practical services to people newly-arrived in our community when they need it most.

What we offer people newly arrived in Australia

We provide support with:

  • Financial assistance and counselling
  • Guidance on immigration issues
  • Access to legal advice
  • Referrals to employment, education, health and counselling services
  • Other programs that encourage people to participate socially, to build community connections.

Providing support as they settle in, with services for newly arrived young people and refugees.
The Welcome Centre
Everyone is welcome.

Our Welcome Centre is a safe, inclusive space for people who may have experienced harrowing circumstances in their country of origin.

Annually over 3000 visitors attend the Centre and all are welcomed.
