Family reunification program
Ensuring families have the best chance at reunification.
We’re here for families to ensure they have the best chance of being reunified with their children.
Our Family Reunification Program is designed to give prioritised support to individuals with alcohol and other drug conditions as part of their Family Reunification Order.
Who we can support
This service is for parents who must meet conditions of a Family Reunification Order. Uniting is responsible for delivering the Family Reunification program across the Grampians, Gippsland and North West Metropolitan Melbourne catchments.
How we support families
Getting to know families and understanding their unique situation allows us to discover their goals and work together to develop a step-by-step plan to achieve them. Families involved in this service will benefit from:
- Identifying triggers for their alcohol and other drug use
- Understanding how alcohol and other drug use impacts on their day-to-day lives
- Individual and family counselling
- Where necessary, Care and Recovery Coordination to better support a collaborative approach with multiple services.
Access to this service is via referral from a Department of Health & Human Services Child Protection Worker only.
